Our Mission Statement
Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.

Our Story: Greater Dalton Habitat for Humanity formed in 1987 with founding members Mr. Charles Bowen, Mr. Gene Kirk and Rev. Joel Mason. Since then we have built, renovated, or repaired more than 80 homes. The success of our Habitat affiliate could not be achieved without all the many volunteers that contribute their time and talent. Our goal is for each Habitat partner family to know we are standing beside them and sharing God’s love in every aspect of the process.

Volunteer
There are many ways to get involved with Greater Dalton Habitat for Humanity. Our volunteer opportunities do not require special skills or construction experience, just a readiness to pitch in and help!

If you are interested in sponsoring one or more workdays, or even a complete home build or renovation, please talk to your company, religious organization, school, etc. about sponsoring a home or a workday.
Habitat believes in affordable mortgages so that everyone
can achieve the dream of homeownership! To qualify for Habitat
applicants have to complete financial training, 350 hours of
service and help build their homes. Depending on income the
interest rate for a Habitat house can range from 0-2%.

You must live and work in Whitfield County (for 2 or more years), be able to pay an affordable mortgage payment,  and pass a background check.
